Our Story
A Festival Made for the Youth

Where every kite that rises carries the imagination and dreams of childhood.

Why We Started
It Began in 2024

The Utah Kite Festival began with a simple idea: create a special day for children and their families, using the magic of flying a kite as the place where everyone comes together.

From the very first year, we discovered that the children were the real stars. The excitement of receiving a kite, watching it climb into the sky, and sharing that moment as a family led us to imagine something much bigger.

What We’re Building
Something Bigger Every Year

Our vision is to turn the festival into a great celebration for kids and families across Utah. A place where kites are the heart of the event, but where children also enjoy games, art, culture, education, and entertainment made just for them.

A festival children look forward to every year, where families make memories, and where kids from different cultures and communities meet, play, and enjoy the day side by side.

Who Runs the Festival
Powered by Fundación Capitán Zarigüeya

The Utah Kite Festival is organized by Fundación Capitán Zarigüeya, a non-profit cultural and educational foundation. The same team behind children’s books, youth leadership programs, and community events across Utah.

Our youth volunteers come from Kite Wings, the foundation’s leadership and community service program for teens.
